Seana Meek, after Prop 8
Long-time Yahoo Seana Meek, towards the end of a long thread on devel-random:
When my daughter was young, only two, we moved to California.
Some point soon after she saw two men holding hands and asked me about it. My response was that some boys grow up and fall in love with other boys and that some girls grow up and fall in love with other girls. I then told her that she didn’t have to worry about whether she would fall in love with boys or girls until she was much older.
Probably only a week or two later she came to me and stated firmly ‘it’s definitely boys, mom’.
And though I know life can be pretty tough for heterosexuals, I plan to support her regardless.
